Kendall Jackson Highland Estates Taylor Peak Merlot California 2014

The vineyard, which in 1974 was bought by the Jackson family, consists of 35 hectares. and is located in Lakeport, Northern California. When they bought it, it was an orchard, but in 1982 it was converted into a vineyard. Good wines begin at the vineyard. At Kendall-Jackson, we are proud to have grapes from some of the best and finest wineries in California, including the Highland Estates wineries, which are located up in the mountains.
The Highland Estates series is all about terroir. Each label shows where the grapes are grown. The combination of the nature of the soil, the high location and the climate of the individual vineyard form the backbone of the powerful style of these wines.
This wine is produced from 100% Merlot grapes grown in the Bennett Valley of Sonomo County, which is located 365 - 427 meters above sea level.
The wine has been aged for 13 months in 46% new and 54% older French oak barrels.
It is an incredibly elegant and medium-bodied wine with a nice red color, delicate aroma, soft and round taste of ripe plums, boiled cherries and chocolate as well as a pleasant and lasting aftertaste.
