Light Horse Pinot Noir California 2018

Light Horse Pinot Noir is a red wine from Napa Valley, California. It is named after Jamieson Ranch's special breed of "miniature horses," barely a metre tall, which roams the property – when they are not "at work" as therapy and service animals. The wine is made at 100% Pinot Noir and is located for a time on French oak before it is tapped.

Jamieson Ranch Vineyards is the southernmost winery in Napa. To the east lies Solano County and to the southwest Is San Pablo Bay, whose sea gus, breeze and cool morning fog cool the area considerably. Here, so far south, it is on average at least 6°C cooler than the northern part of Napa, and that means you can make not only large, bulky Cabernets, but also fine Chardonnay and delicate Pinots. Jamieson Ranch, however, also makes rich Zinfandel with grapes grown further north.
