Seghesio Old wine Zinfandel Seghesio Family vineyards Sonoma 2015
The vines that supply grapes to Seghesio's Old Vine Zinfandel are on average 90 years old - and several of them have rounded up the 100 years. These are some of the oldest vines in the United States. The yield is located at the lower edge of 15 hectolitres per hectare, or barely two glasses of wine per vine. The wine is platter aged in 100% new casks, of which 75% French barriques. In the glass, the wine offers a large bouquet of full-ripe berry fruit and complex compound mineral hues. The taste unfolds, layer after layer, and reveals a colossal richness and breadth that is kept exemplary in the ave of a cool tannin that makes the powerful wine a mega tasting experience.
