Weingut Nigl Piri Grüner Veltliner Kremstal DAC 2019
Weingut Nigl is located in the picturesque surroundings at the foot of the mountain Senftenberger Kirchenberg in Austria.
Nigl has been named wine producer of the year by both Falstaff and WINE & SPIRITS magazine and WineSpectator has awarded the ham "Critics Choice Award", just as his wines have repeatedly won top places on point camels at WineSpectator, Vinaria and many more.
Martin Nigl practices sustainable agriculture, never uses herbicides or insecticides, plants legumes and herbs, and avoids copper, which is a cornerstone of the biodynamic arsenal but which he considers harmful to his vine vitality and harmful to the soil.
I basement works Nigl almost exclusively in stainless steel, using only ambient yeast, amending gravity to collect impurities. It results in wine, which is some of the most crystal clear, transparent bottlings.
