Chateau fayat Pomerol 2010
When the property was created in 2006, it became known as Chateau Fayat Thunevin. At the time, it was a 50/50 partnership between Vignobles Clément Fayat, the owners of La Dominique and Ets Thunevin, owned by Jean Luc Thunevin and Murielle Andraud. The founders all shared the desire to produce excellent Bordeaux wine in the Pomerol designation. The partnership dissolved after the 2009 vintage, and the name of the Pomerol property was changed to reflect the change in ownership.
Today, Pomerol Castle is now known as Chateau Fayat. Jean Luc Thunevin continues to consult winery and marketing at Chateau Fayat. Michel Rolland is also a consultant.
Since 2009, Chateau Fayat has been able to increase their holdings in Pomerol. This took place when the owner Clement Fayat was able to merge land from vineyards that he started buying in 1984, Vieux Bourgneuf, Prieurs de la Commanderie and Commanderie de Mazeyres. A renovation and modernization of the property took place coinciding with the creation of the much larger property, which started in 2009.
