Château Pichon Longueville Baron Pauillac 2 Cru 2011
In 1850, when Baron Joseph de Pichon Longueville was dead, he divided his Pauillac estate in two. To his daughters, he gave Pichon Lalande, while his son Raoul was assigned to Pichon-Baron.
Both castles were honored as the 2nd Cru Classé in the 1855 classification. In the decades up to 1987, the laurel leaves were rested, and Pichon-Baron was a shadow of himself. Subsequently, AXA Millésime, led by Jean-Michel Cazes and (since 2000) Christian Seely, has taken Pichon-Baron back on the right course.
