The oldest canes supplying grapes to Lequin-Colin's red Vieilles Vignes were planted just after the end of World War II. World war. The knotted canes have their roots in the Champs Claude field in the eastern part of the municipality, while the rest of the grapes for the wine are picked from 45-60 year old canes in the fields of Clos Genet and Les Hâtes, located on opposite sides of the village of Santenay. The grapes from Les Hâtes create the structure of the wine, while the others contribute finesse and fruit. Burgundy is a mosaic of fields and plots where the families Of Lequin and Colin have owned land since the mid-1600s.
