Gravity Pinot Noir VQA Flat Rock Cellars 2014
Flat Rock Cellars' Gravity is designed to showcase the "best of the best" in the estate's Twenty Mile Bench winery and cellar. This means careful selection of the best plots of Pinot Noir vines, vinified separately and then the best selected from each barrel. The nose shows generous cran-cherry fruit with a subtle note of earthy goodness and oak spice. It is clean and delicious on the palate with bright red fruits, ripe tannins, vibrant acidity and good length through the finish. "Real benchmark Niagara Pinot Noir! I've long been a fan of Flat Rock's Pinot Noirs, especially Gravity. Aromas of ripe cherries. Live juicy acidity. The vineyard uses the gentlest methods to press the grapes and make the wine via a gravity flow system in instead of pumping (hence the name gravity on the label) .Then the wine was aged in French oak barrels for 18 months.Medium ruby shade with cherry accents, polished tannins, silky texture and medium mottled weight.Beautiful cherry aromas and flavors in the middle of the palate. So it ends with wisps of black raspberry and vanilla toast. This red wine is so lively and so amazingly amazing year after year. Pair with fried or grilled chicken. "
