Weingut Peter Kriechel Marienthaler Rosenberg Frühburgunder Trocken Ahr 2015
AHR Character: A dark, dense and powerful early burgundy. Aromas of red berries and cassis are accompanied by tobacco and smoky notes. Frühburgunder is an ahr specialty that is extremely rare in other wine districts. Recommendation: The wine is super good with game and just to enjoy. Every year since 2011, Peter Kriechel has included his red wines in the final as Germany's best red wine. His Frühburgunder Marienthaler Rosenbeg has been named Germany's best red wine in vintage 2012. With over 4 hectares of early burgundy, it is the largest private producer of these rare Ahr specialties. Vineyards are planted with plants (eg legumes) to promote the formation of humus and an appropriate nutrient. Class is desired instead of mass. The quality is increased by halving grapes in most vineyards. The grapes are selectively selected by skilled workers by hand. Storage: At least 14 months in French barriques.
