Castello Banfi Belnero IGT Toscany 2014

The Italian vineyard, Castello Banfi, located near Montalcino in Tuscany, has a total of about 3,000 hectares. The vineyard was founded in 1978 and today about 1,000 hectares of wine have been planted. In addition, the vineyard has one of Europe's most advanced wineries, as well as a 11th-century fortress, decorated as a luxury restaurant. The winery is today very well known for producing good wines of very high quality. This, Castello Banfi has clearly proved by winning several
12 times the race with the beautiful title of "Best Italian Vineri" by Vinitaly. The wine is mainly produced by Sangiovese added to a small percentage of the grapes Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot, all grown at Castello Banfi's own vineyards in the southern part of Montalcino in Tuscany. This beautiful red wine has been aged 14 months in French oak barrels (30% new). It is an incredibly nice wine with intense deep red color and delicate scent of spices, tobacco and coffee as well as notes of blackberry jam. Rich but at the same time soft and pleasant fruit flavour with a touch of vanilla, a well-balanced tannin content and a long and harmonious aftertaste.
