Marchesi Antinori Solaia Toscany IGT 2015
Here is a magical infinity, a continuous loop of compatibility between iconic wines from Tuscany and the 2015 vintage. The fantastic Solaia 2015 is a solid proof of this perfect fit. This was a warm vintage that, in my opinion, shows less favorably in different parts of Italy and with other grapes giving their most elegant performances in the cooler vintages. I would put pure terms for Nebbiolo and Sangiovese in this category. However, Tuscany and many of its large blended reds (made in part or completely with international grapes) work according to a different logic
Solaia 2015 is an intense ruby red color with purple highlights. The nose offers powerful notes of plum jam and berries. Perfectly integrated sensations of chocolate and licorice give way to the finish for hints of fresh mint. Harmonious on the taste with excellent structure and silky tannins, the wine finishes with an extremely long finish and long-lasting aftertaste.
Mixture: 73% Cabernet Sauvignon, 20% Sangiovese, 7% Cabernet Franc
