Tedeschi Amarone della Valpolicella Classico Riserva La Fabriseria Veneto 2011
This wine is made from a large selection of grapes that come from the La Fabriseria vineyard, located in the high hill of the Valpolicella Classica (municipalities of Sant'Ambrogio and Fumane). The goal when producing this wine is to achieve a fantastic structure combined with an elegant aroma. This is the basis for continued and increasing expertise throughout the wine's evolutionary period. This Amarone is the fruit of Renzo Tedeschi's passion for good wine and his constant desire to strive for the best. Nature has not always been generous: since birth, this wine has only been produced in the following vintages: 1983, 1988, 1995, 1997, 1998, 2005, 2007 and 2011.
- »It is a bruise of a wine - but in a very good way. Loud and expressive and with a round house 17% alcohol kick, 2011 Amarone della Valpolicella Classico Riserva la Fabriseria throws several different shades of smoke and spice within its thick quality of fruit. Super rich and full-bodied, you will appreciate its bold character of roasted espresso bean and oak, presented along with cola and cherry liqueur. The wine is like a sociable but cute friend, built like a tank and not registering its own strength. The blend is 40% Corvina, 40% Corvinone, 15% Rondinella and 5% Oseleta, all coming from La Fabriseria winery located between San Giorgio di Valpolicella and Mazzurega in the Sant'Ambrogio valley, with vines 500 meters above sea level. The grapes are dried for four months in a ventilated room. Beginning with this 2011 vintage, the wine now bears the Riserva designation. You will not find many amarones quite like this, especially since only 2,500 bottles of this vintage were made. "ROBERT PARKER
