Originally, Tenute Guado al Tasso della Gheradesca belonged to the family whose roots in the region go back more than 1,200 years. In the 1930s, the property passed to Carlotta della Gherardesca Antinori, who is the mother of Marchese Piero Antinori. Tenuta Guado al Tasso is 1,000 hectares, of which 300 hectares are planted with vineyards. The vineyards are located in the center of the so-called "Bolgheri Amphitheatre", consisting of rolling hillsides surrounding a fantastic plateau that slopes gently towards the sea, creating a microclimate with unique characteristics. The fields are planted with both Vermentino, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Merlot and Petit Verdot.
