Tenuta Patruno Perniola Marzagaglia Primitivo Apulien 2017

A fantastically powerful and delicious Primitivo. Paolo Patruno produces a total of only 15,000 bottles of organic wine in Apulia. With pedigree control, the wines are grown completely without the use of pesticides, herbicides and chemicals.

Subtropical with mild winters, dry to slightly wet spring, very hot summers and thermal winds from the Mediterranean.

The vineyards are about 400 m above sea level. Calcareous, clay, rich in minerals and fossils. Vines 4-5,000 per hectare, low yield, 1-2 kg. per vine. In early September, the best ripe grapes are harvested in the morning by hand in small boxes. After stalking and pressing, grapes are cooled to 5-8°C for 24 hours. The wine ferments 10-20 days at low temperature. Storage minimum 36 months in steel tank and 6-12 months bottled before sale.

Main courses, grilled and fried red meat, venison, brassiered pork, medium to aged cheese. Serving temperature. 16/18 °C

Beautiful full-bodied bouquet with touches of flowers and red fresh fruit, delicate spicy, complex, intense and elegant
