Tenuta Patruno Perniola Marzagaglia Primitivo Apulien 2017

A fantastically powerful and delicious Primitivo. Paolo Patruno produces a total of only 15,000 bottles of organic wine in Apulia. With pedigree control, the wines are grown completely without the use of pesticides, herbicides and chemicals.

Climate:

Subtropical with mild winters, dry to slightly wet spring, very hot summers and thermal winds from the Mediterranean.

Underground:

The vineyards are about 400 m above sea level. Calcareous, clay, rich in minerals and fossils. Vines 4-5,000 per hectare, low yield, 1-2 kg. per vine. In early September, the best ripe grapes are harvested in the morning by hand in small boxes. After stalking and pressing, grapes are cooled to 5-8°C for 24 hours. The wine ferments 10-20 days at low temperature. Storage minimum 36 months in steel tank and 6-12 months bottled before sale.

Main courses, grilled and fried red meat, venison, brassiered pork, medium to aged cheese. Serving temperature. 16/18 °C
