The Italian winery, Castello Banfi, located near Montalcino in Tuscany, has a total of approx. 3,000 hectares. The vineyard was founded in 1978, and today approx. 1,000 hectares of wine. In addition, the winery has one of Europe's most advanced wineries as well as a fortress from the 11th century, which has been furnished as a luxury restaurant.
The wine is produced from 100% Sangiovese grapes and is aged in oak barrels for approx. 2 years and then 8-12 months in the bottle before release.
