The Château d’Issan is one of the jewels of the Margaux appellation. The history of the castle goes back many hundreds of years, and over the years it has led a changeable life.
Since 1945 it has been owned by the Cruse family. Since 1998, Emmanuel Cruse has been in charge of the operation, and he has really managed to continuously raise the quality to the current very high level.
The quality improvements are i.a. a. achieved through investments in new technology, but also with a significantly increased care in the selection of the grapes, which has meant that a larger proportion of the grapes are now used on the second wine Blason d’Issan.
