The Super 2. Cru Classé castle Château Ducru-Beaucaillou is owned by the Borie family, who acquired the castle in 1942. At that time, the castle was not in the best condition. Wine merchant Francis Borie renovated the property and brought the wine up among the best in the region. The baton was passed on to his son, Jean-Eugène, who successfully drove Ducru-Beaucaillou through the second half of the 20th century, and when Jean-Eugène died in 1998, sons François-Xavier and Bruno took over. Chateau Ducru-Beaucaillou has thus been owned by the Bories family for the entire 3rd generations.
