This bottle comes from the Barbancourt distillery, which is placed in the heart of sugar cane fields of the Domaine Barbancourt in the plaine de Cul-de-Sac region. Thos os a rum based on fresh sugarcane juice, which is fermented and then double distilled, using a process similar to the one used to produce cognac. Rhum Barbancourt is known to produce very high-quality rums, and this one is no exception. A lot of barrels was destroyed under the earthquake in 2010, but not this one.
