Château Suduiraut 2010
Premier Cru Classé en 1855
Château Suduiraut is located in the town of Preignac, just north of the famous Château d'Yquem, and here they produce some of the best and most elegant Sauternes. The castle's history dates back to the 16th century. The palace gardens were designed by the architect behind Versailles and Château Suduiraut is known as one of the most beautiful properties in all of Bordeaux.
The property's extreme 200 hectares have 92 hectares under vine planted with 90% Sémilion and 10% Sauvignon Blanc.
The castle's 1st wine Château Suduiraut 1st Cru can be drunk young, but if it is stored for 20-40 years, it fully comes into its own and takes on an amber-golden, almost mahogany-like colour. The castle also produces the 2nd wines Castelnau de Suduiraut and Lions de Suduiraut – dedicated to the younger audience who do not have much knowledge of Sauternes – as well as the white wines S de Suduiraut and the newest addition to the family, Blanc Sec de Suduiraut.
