Manufacturing
This exquisite wine is made from carefully selected Tempranillo grapes from fields with ideal growing conditions. The soil consists of lime and clay mixed with pebbles, which ensure excellent drainage. The continental climate, influenced by the Atlantic Ocean, provides large temperature fluctuations between day and night, which promotes grapes with intense flavor and structure. The vines, which are between 80 and 100 years old, are harvested manually and fermentation takes place in temperature-controlled steel tanks at 28-30°C. After fermentation, the wine matures for 24 months in carefully selected French and American oak barrels to achieve its characteristic depth and finesse.
About the manufacturer
Bodegas Santa Rufina, located in Cubillas de Santa Marta, is a proud family-owned winery under the D.O. Cigales. Founded in 1997 and with over 90 hectares of vineyards around the winery, a minimal transport time from harvest to production is ensured, which preserves the freshness of the grapes. The vineyards, characterized by sand, limestone and white clay, combined with a unique climate with large temperature differences, create optimal conditions for growing grapes of the highest quality.
