Andresen Colheita 1980 0.5 liters
J.H. Andresen is a small, Portuguese-owned port wine house with Danish roots that produced this beautiful, half-aged Colheita in 1980.
It is almost a contradiction, but also an indisputable fact that there is both freshness and age to be found in this fully mature Colheita with 36 years on her back. The resilient acid harmonizes perfectly with the sweetness and storage aromas Every year at least 3% of the wine evaporates, so at best you have 1/3 of the wine left after 36 years. When capital tied up is added, it is one's duty to rejoice - and wonder, this gem does not cost a loan in the bank. The evaporation gives great concentration, while the many years of oxidative storage give a fantastic depth and complexity.
In this snapshot from 1980, you can enjoy moscovado sugar, walnuts, figs, pickled orange, cinnamon and roasted wood as well as a finish with superb length. Most people will enjoy a half-aged journeyman like this without food, but for a nut or almond cake with a mocha cream and a generous crème caramel, for example, it will also do.
For serving, we recommend a temperature of 13-19 ° (coolest on a summer day) as well as a good glass of white wine that is spacious enough to get the full aroma experience.
After opening, the wine stays for approximately 2-5 weeks - longest in the fridge.
Drained at 50 cl. bottles, delivered in gift tubes.
