Taylor's Vintage Port 2005 Quinta De Terra Feita, Portugal The company Taylors - or Taylor, Fladgate & Yeatman as it is properly called - is over 300 years old. Taylors is a personally owned family business that is completely independent. Taylor's headquarters are located in Vila Nova de Gaia. Here, the port wines are shipped, which are exported to at least 54 countries worldwide, in addition of course also in Portugal. The grapes for the port wines from Taylor's are grown in the Douro valley on Taylor's own three vineyards; Quinta de Vargellas, Quinta de Terra Feita and Quinta do Junco.Taylor Fladgate LBV 2007 offers aromas of blueberries and raspberries in abundance and a delicious touch of black licorice. It has floral and slightly spicy notes, which strike through and give lovely nuances to the bouquet. In the palate it is rounded and well balanced. The wine is well structured with firm tannins that keep the wine together nicely - completely in true Taylor style. The aftertaste is wonderfully long. Serve this harmonious port wine chilled. It is an excellent companion to ripe, aromatic cheeses, especially blue cheeses like Stilton or Roquefort. It is also delicious for desserts made on a backbone of chocolate or berries. But also try it as a glass of wine for a cozy moment or as a drink after the meal. This Vintage Port, which has been stored in oak barrels, has real elegance. The port wine has a nice dark, almost black-purple color, and the aroma is complex and incredibly intense of blackberries, raspberries and black currants with a touch of plums and licorice. It has a full-bodied, but at the same time almost velvety soft fruit taste, with a touch of chocolate and licorice as well as a long and pleasant aftertaste. P.g.a. the natural depot in the Vintage Port, you must remember to leave the bottle upright for 48 hours before opening it - this way the precipitate falls to the bottom of the bottle. Then you should carefully decant the port wine so that the precipitate stays in the bottle.
