Golan Heights Winery Gamla Merlot Galilee 2018

Golan Heights Winery, was established in 1983 by four kibbutzim and four moshavim (cooperative community).

From its inception until today, the vineyard has left its mark and expanded its influence on the Israeli wine world. Its establishment changed the local wine list and shaped perception of wine quality in the mind of the Israeli consumer.

The Winery produces brand labels with a variety of varieties and styles: Yarden, Gamla, Hermon and Golan.

Galilee (or Galil) is the northernmost and is generally considered the best name in Israel. The area of ​​the highest quality within the appellation is the Golan Heights (or simply Golan), the coldest region in Israel. The vineyards on this volcanic plateau rise from 400 meters (1,300 feet) above sea level to 1,200 meters (3,900 feet) and receive snowfall in winter. Golan Heights Winery is located in the town of Katzrin in central Golan.
