Long Pond 2003 TECA 15 years old rum 63%
Velier Long Pond TECA is a Jamaican pot still-rum, tapped by Velier for the series "National Rums of Jamaica", which focuses on the various "marks" produced at Long Pond. They all have different levels of esters – chemical compounds that develop during fermentation and dish storage and which have a major impact on the taste of rum. This rum, called TECA, has an ester content of between 1200 and 1300, measured in grams per hectolitre of pure alcohol, placing it at the high end of the ester scale compared to virtually any other rum. It is stored for 15 years in tropical climate and is tapped by respectable 63% alcohol, without sugar or dye.
