Perinet Garnatxa Priorat 2017
The classic Garnatxa grape from the region offers floral and dark fruit tomatoes and acidity, while Cabernet enhances structure and earth tones. These blends are specially made with a selection of the barrels in each vineyard. The combination of the same grapes from different plots makes this black wine fully express Priorat's terroir. Unique wine to get close to an old Mediterranean variety.
The first sorting was carried out in the field, leaving any unsuitable fruit in the vineyard. The grapes were then further sorted by hand. All batches were cold-softened for 2-3 days before beginning their slow fermentation in barrels and tanks. Gentle blows were performed several times daily in both tank and 600 L barrel barrels; macerations lasted for a long time, more than 30 days for optimal taste and tannin extraction. The free-flowing wine was crushed, and the skins and stems were gently pressed and returned to their original maceration barrels for aging. One-year-old French oak barrels were used for 12 months to host the wine before bottling without refining or filtering. These blends are specially made with a fine selection of each vineyard block.
