Trappist Westvleteren Blond Monks beer 33 cl.

Westvleteren was founded in 1838 at Trappist Abbey of Sint Sixtus in Vleteren, Belgium. The brewery's three beers have gained an international reputation for taste and quality. The brewery itself employs three worldly workers for various manual tasks. However, only the monks themselves are responsible for the brewing. Of the 26 Cistercians living at the monastery, five are monks who run the brewery with a further five helping out during bottling. As with all other Trappist breweries, beer is sold in order to provide financial support to the monastery and other philanthropic causes. The Westvleteren monks have repeatedly stated that they only brew enough beer to run the monastery, not for pure profit. They themselves say "We brew beer to live, but we do not live for beer
