GlenAllachie 12 years old Speyside Single Malt whisky
1967, and the first "new brand" ran from the boilers in February 1968. GlenAllachie, which means "The Valley of the Rocks", was built as a result of the great whiskey boom of the 1960s, where total production in Scotland was increased quite strongly, driven by demand from the US marked. The first owners to build the distillery were Mackinlays, a subsidiary of Scottish & Newcastle Breweries. The architect responsible for the construction was William Delmé-Evans, who was also behind the design by several other Scots.
