Glendronach 2003 #5948 13 Years Old Highland Single Malt Whisky 54,9%

The whiskey has notes of berries, plums, vanilla, caramel and a hint of licorice and ginger. Its sweetness fits perfectly with the sharp edge of the malt, which is slightly rounded by the long ripening. The GlenDronach 2003 13 Years Old is bottled by naturally occurring Cask Strength. In terms of quality, GlenDronach is a sleeping giant. Most whiskey fans agree that a more targeted bet from the previous owners would have made GlenDronach one of the best known distilleries in Scotland. Today, GlenDroncah is best known among whiskey enthusiasts worldwide. As in many other similar situations, the previous owners never had the big visions for the distillery. The malt from here was only intended as semi-finished products for the owners' blended branded products. With decades of delay, however, the time has now come for GlenDronach to occupy a position among the very best and most respected Single Malts in Scotland. The current owner - Billy Walker - has not only taken over a fantastically well-trimmed - and in the best sense - an old-fashioned, traditional and beautiful production equipment, but another stock of old malt whiskey that is completely unique.
