Springbank 25 års Single Malt Scotch Whisky 46% 2015

Springbank 25 Year Old is one of the icons of the whisky world – a dram everyone should have to taste at least once! This is the 2015 release, which is stored on a mix of Boubon, Sherry & Port refill casks all 25 years. A show of force from Springbank! The whisky is tapped at 46% alcohol, without cooling filtration or dye.

Springbank produces 3 distinct types of whisky, which differentiate themselves on a number of parameters. The classic Springbank has a light peat yoy. The smoke level is indicated (somewhat imprecise) with a measurement of phenol in the pre-painted barley and is approximately 10-15 "parts per milion" (the malt is dried 6 hours with peat smoke and 30 hours of hot air). Springbank is also distilled 2.5 times. "Longrow" – a heavily smoked variant was first made in 1973. Here the smoke is up to 50-55 ppm, the malt is dried 48 hours with peat smoke, and it is distilled twice. The newest variant, Hazelburn, saw the light of day in 1997 when, for the first time, completely unsmoked and trip-aged whisky was tried.
