Big Cabernets with unheard of storage potential, complex Bordeaux blends, supple Merlots and luxurious whites on Chardonnay. Woodward Canyon Winery does it all! In 1977, Rick Small planted the first almost half a hectare of vines on the family farm, where until then there was only wheat. By 1981, Woodward Canyon Winery had taken shape as Walla Walla's only second winery! The plantings have been continuously expanded, so that today they comprise 41 acres = 16.6 hectares. Today it is a family business, and both Rick's wife and children are part of the winery. Particular emphasis is placed on working in the field – and it's no wonder, given that Rick's family have been farmers (and women) for four generations. The fields are all certified Salmon Safe and are being converted to organic and biodynamic farming.
