The Glendronach Distillery
Glendronach whiskey comes from a distillery up in the Scottish Highlands. The distillery was founded in 1826 by James Allardice. The distillery, like many others, has changed hands many times since its opening year. Until 2008, it was relatively difficult to find anything from the distillery, but when new owners took over they promoted Glendronach and is today a recognized quality brand. Part of what makes Glendronach a special distillery is the amount of mature whiskey that is aged in Oloroso and PX Sherry casks, which bring a special character to the whiskey.
