How did you celebrate the start of the new millenium? This was a time for both reflection and anticipation. In ancient roman myth, `Janus`, the god of beginnings, endings and transitions, was blessed with the ability to look into the pastand see the future and is usually depicted as having two faces. Indeed the month of January was named so by the Romans as a nod to this well-loved figura, who had a ubiquitous presence in their ceremonies and life events.
The Millenium Casks bottling is a limited edition expression of 7.800 bottles of The Arran Single Malt inspired by a unique moment in time. It is a memorable mix opf 35 bourbon barrels and 10 sherry hogsheads filled on the last day of the old millenium and the first day of the new. This whisky perfectly captures the spirit of reflection and new beginnings. Bottled at cask strength and without chill-filtration, the millenium cask are the perfectly example of our forward thinking indepent character which remain true to its roots.
A donation from every bottle sold of The Millenium Cask will be made to the Arran Trust to help maintan footpaths, such as that leading to Loch Na Davie, the water source that provides us with the essential ingredient for our Arran Single Malt. The Arran Trust provides valuable fundraising for community and converation projects throughout our beautiful island.
