Castello Banfi Brunello di Montalcino Toscany 20116DOCG
Brunello di Montalcino was Italy's first wine to be granted DOCG status, a testament to its aristocracy, balance and fabulous propensity for aging.
Banfi Brunello di Montalcino is a culmination of over three decades with Castello Banfi's groundbreaking work research into the clones of Sangiovese; with the goal of producing a more excellent quality Brunello. A careful selection of grapes is followed by vinification with skin contact for 10-12 days. Published in the 5th year after harvest, the wine is aged for at least 4 years, including 2 years in oak barrels of various sizes, mainly French oak barrels and partly in Slovenian oak barrels.
