This wine is for collectors, connoisseurs and wine lovers looking for something special. It’s wine for life’s big moments – anniversaries, celebrations or quiet moments when only the best is good enough. Château Brane-Cantenac 1982 is not just a bottle of wine, but a living piece of Bordeaux history.
Margaux is known for its perfumed finesse and silky texture, and this particular vintage shows the appellation’s signature in its most perfect form. Time has rounded the wine beautifully, creating a harmony that only the greatest wines achieve.
A mature Margaux with grace, depth and balance
the 1982 vintage today is generous, complex and remarkably vibrant. The fruit is still present, but now elegantly integrated with tertiary aromas that give the wine an almost meditative depth. The structure is soft, the tannins are fully polished and the overall impression is seductive and long.
This is a wine that takes gastronomic experiences to a new level – but can also be enjoyed on its own, allowing its layers of aromas to unfold in peace and quiet.

The history of the house
Château Brane-Cantenac has roots dating back to the early 1800s. In 1833, Baron Hector de Brane – known as the “Napoleon of the vines” – took over the Château Gorce estate. He quickly recognized the extraordinary terroir of the area and dedicated himself fully to elevating the quality of the wine. In 1838, the château was renamed Brane-Cantenac, and in the famous classification of 1855, the property achieved the status of 2ème Grand Cru Classé. Since 1925, the château has been owned by the Lurton family, who through generations have preserved the house’s signature style: delicate, aromatic and elegant – the essence of Margaux.
Today, Château Brane-Cantenac is recognized worldwide for its ability to create wines with both finesse and ageing potential. The 1982 vintage stands as an iconic example of the house philosophy and the timeless greatness of Margaux.
