Domaine Pegau Châteauneuf-du-Pape Da Capo 2020 is one of the most prestigious wines from Châteauneuf-du-Pape and a true expression of the uncompromising quality that Domaine Pegau stands for. This wine represents the essence of traditional craftsmanship and terroir from one of the most famous appellations in France.
Terroir and Production
The grapes for Da Capo 2020 are harvested from some of the best plots in Châteauneuf-du-Pape, where old vines, covered with the characteristic "galets roulés" (round stones), contribute to the intensity and finesse of the wine. The climate of the area with warm days and cold nights provides perfect conditions for full ripening and preservation of freshness.
Laurence Féraud uses no less than 13 different grapes, with Grenache accounting for 70%, Syrah for 7%, Mourvèdre for 3%, and the remaining 20% distributed between 10 other grape varieties. The grapes grow on three different fields, and the selection for Da Capo takes place with great care. The bunches are pressed whole and fermented for 10 days in cement tanks without the addition of yeast, after which the must matures for 2 years in selected old oak barrels. This minimal intervention allows the wine to unfold its full potential.
Exclusive and durable
Da Capo 2020 is produced in limited quantities and is a wine with incredible aging potential. It can develop beautifully for up to 20-30 years, during which its complexity and elegance will blossom further.
