Tomintoul 12 years old has been bottled at 46% vol to retain whisky´s unique and natural characteritics and subtlety of taste and by not chill-filtering this expression it ensures that the aromatic components in the whisky are preserved to enhance impact and flavour. No colouring has been added to this single malt so that the naturalness of the whisky in the casks can be enjoyed to the full.
Nose: A touch more than a gentle port influence combines thrillingly with the malt and a whisper.
Palate: Richly ample with a red fruit and porty-sweet start followed by a spicy, peppery denuement.
Finish: A whisky which demands a re-taste.
