When founder Abel Tesseron, whose facial features on the company's logo acquired the property in the late 1800s, he patiently preserved his stock of eaux-de-vie in the 12th-century crypt, located deep beneath the domain, and sold his mature masterpieces to various larger Cognac houses. These reserved and rare stocks have become legendary among Cognac connoissees worldwide.
