Danish wine
New wine country?

It started back in 1993, in Avedøre where Michael Gundersen planted the first vines in a field. However, it was not until the year 2000 that there was an official approval of commercial wine production in Denmark by the EU. After the EU's approval of commercial wine production, you could taste wine from 2001 onwards. There were 2 wine producers in 2001, and since they did not have a very large stock, the wine was quickly sold out. Subsequently, more and more wineries have been added in Denmark and back in 2020 there were approx. 100 commercial vineyards in the country. The largest is located at Røsnøs Kalundborg and is called Dyrehøj Vingaard.

Ørnberg SORT
Sjællands Odde Danmark 2022

"Sort" is a mulled wine like no other. It is made from pinot noir and castel grapes. The nose smells beautifully of blueberries, sweet Finnish licorice and freshly baked bread. The mouth is creamy, intense and sweet with a gentle balancing acid bite and a long, sweet finish

Ørnberg CV
Sjælland Odde Denmark 2020

Danish dessert wine from the grape variety: Solaris
CV is probably the closest to the essence of what the solaris grape is capable of. The nose is an orgy of pickled fruit and caramel notes and a small spicy touch of chamomile. The mouth is a silky, seductive blanket of sweetness with an incredible intensity, almost like that of a well-aged saute. Enjoy CV with some you really want to spoil.

Danish wine in the shop

We are lucky enough to have wines from Bognæs Vingaard and Ørnberg.

Bognæs Vingaard is located on Tuse Næs, and with their passion for good wine and 4000 vines, they come up with fantastic white wines and sparkling wine.

Ørnberg Vingård is located by Sjællands Odde. They wanted to prove that it was possible to produce good wine in Denmark. From here it went quickly.
Ørnberg has really gained recognition in wine circles, and their rosé, dessert wine and mulled wine have previously been voted Denmark's best.
