In 2019, a cool and rainy spring gave way to high temperatures which endured until November. A generous bout of rain in late July staved off any risk of drougth, allowing the grapes to ripen perfectly and express the character of the soils. Showers in late September provided ideal conditions for Botrytis cinerea to develop throughout the vineyards. Ind mid-October, five days of extraordinary meteorological conditions enabled us to completethe harvest in our finest terroirs, picking grapes optimum concentration.
The result of our unique patchwork of soils, our experenced team and our savvy stategic choice, 2019 Yquem is a wine of rare beauty.
