The Story of Montebello:
Montebello Distillery was founded in 1930 by the Dolomie family in the eastern part of Basse-Terre, Guadeloupe. Initially a small, family-run distillery, it has faced many challenges over the years but has preserved its authentic spirit. In the 1970s, the distillery began to grow significantly and today is one of the most recognized rum producers in the region. Today, Montebello produces up to 500,000 liters of rum annually, with most of the production destined for the French market.
Montebello is known for its excellent rum production, where fresh sugarcane juice and local raw materials play a central role. The rums are distilled in column stills and aged in a mix of bourbon, cognac, and wine casks, which gives the unique flavor profile that has made Montebello famous in France.
