This Port Ellen was distilled on March 16, 1983, which is just a few weeks before the final closure of the distillery in May of that year. The edition contains only 209 bottles, which come from cask no. 667. It has aged for 40 years in Spanish oak sherry casks, and has an alcohol strength of 52.4%.
The cask was originally stored on Islay until it was deposited at the Duncan Taylor warehouse in Aberdeenshire in 2010. Each decanter is individually numbered and with a signed certificate of authenticity. Duncan Taylor last published Port Ellen in 2013.
