This wine is made from 100% sangiovese and the grapes come from Castello Banfi's large Vigna Marrucheto vineyard. This vineyard was planted back in 2009 and the first vintage of this wine was made in 2016.
This wine has aged for 30 months in French oak, after which it is also bottled before release.
Castello Banfi, is located near Montalcino in Tuscany, has a total of approx. 3,000 hectares. The vineyard was founded in 1978, and today approx. 1,000 hectares of wine. In addition, the winery has one of Europe's most advanced wineries as well as a fortress from the 11th century, which has been furnished as a luxury restaurant.
