Baron Gaston Legrand Bas Armagnac 1962 – Exceptional vintage Armagnac from Bas Armagnac

Baron Gaston Legrand Bas Armagnac 1962 is a rare and noble vintage Armagnac from the most prestigious area in the region – Bas Armagnac. We’re talking about liquid history in the glass. A spirit with over 60 years of evolution, depth and complexity, created for the discerning collector and the true connoisseur.

This Armagnac is made from the classic Ugni Blanc, Baco Blanc and Colombard grapes, grown in the sandy and iron-rich soils of Bas Armagnac. This area is known for producing the finest and most elegant Armagnacs with natural finesse, high acidity and a structure that provides exceptional ageability.

Bas Armagnac distillates are often characterized by relatively lower alcoholic strength at distillation and a higher acid structure in the wine before distillation – factors that contribute to a slow and harmonious development during barrel aging. The result is an Armagnac with a silky smooth texture and impressive aromatic complexity.

Tasting notes

Color: Deep mahogany with amber-golden reflections.

Aroma: Intense and complex with notes of dried fruit, prunes, figs and orange peel. Underlying notes of vanilla, caramel, toasted oak and light spice testify to decades of barrel aging.

Flavor: Silky and round with layer upon layer of nuts, dark caramel, marmalade and spicy wood. A nice acid structure keeps the balance and freshness despite the age.

Finish: Extremely long and elegant with warm notes of dried fruit, oak and subtle spicy sweetness.
