The story behind Caroni

Caroni Distillery was founded in 1923 in Trinidad and quickly became known for its heavy and aromatic style, originally produced for the British Navy. The distillery was closely associated with the island’s sugar cane production and state sugar industry. When sugar production closed in the early 2000s, Caroni was forced to turn the key in 2003.

Since then, Caroni has achieved almost legendary status. The warehouses that were saved from the distillery’s closure have evolved into some of the world’s most coveted and collectible spaces. This 17 year edition is a tribute to Caroni’s golden age – bottled with respect for tradition and with labels inspired by historic originals.
