Castellani Sommavite Santovino Dessert Wine – Italian sweetness with character and elegance

Castellani Sommavite Santovino is a classic Italian dessert wine with a beautiful amber color and an elegant balance of sweetness and freshness. This special wine is made for those who love sweet wines with depth and finesse, with warm notes of caramel, nuts and ripe fruit in every sip.

The wine is made using a traditional method where the best and most fully ripe grapes are selected after harvest. The grapes are then left to dry in ventilated attics for several months. This process concentrates the sugars and aromas in the grapes and creates the basis for the intense character and rich structure of the wine.

After drying, the grapes are destemmed and pressed, and the must ferments with the skins for extra richness and complexity. Once fermentation is complete, the wine is aged for more than a year in small oak barrels – the traditional Caratelli – which give the wine its characteristic depth and soft, spicy notes.

The result is a dessert wine with great balance, where the sweetness never becomes heavy, but instead appears elegant and harmonious. It’s perfect with desserts, nut-based cakes or mature cheeses – but can also be enjoyed on its own as a luxurious after-dinner glass.
