Two Squared by Alpha Omega 2018 is renowned Napa Valley winery Alpha Omega’s exclusive “second wine” – created in the classic Bordeaux tradition, where only the best grapes and barrels are selected for the house signature. This is a powerful and elegant Napa Valley red wine that is approachable when young, but also has solid ageing potential.

The 2018 vintage is considered an outstanding vintage in Napa Valley with optimal growing conditions and perfect ripening. The wine is composed of 65% Cabernet Sauvignon, 23% Merlot and 12% Cabernet Franc – a classic Bordeaux-inspired blend with Napa intensity. Fermentation takes place in steel tanks for maximum fruit purity, after which the wine is aged for 12 months in French oak barrels, of which 30% are new and 70% are one year old. This gives structure, complexity and elegant barrel character without overpowering the fruit.

Tasting notes

Color: Deep ruby red with a dark core.

Aroma: Intense notes of blackcurrant, blackberry and black cherry, accompanied by cedar, vanilla and a hint of dark chocolate.

Taste: Full-bodied and well-structured with concentrated dark fruit, silky tannins and a great balance between freshness and richness.

Finish: Long, harmonious and elegant with lingering notes of blackcurrant and spicy oak.

Perfect with beef, lamb, grilled ribeye or hearty stews. Serve at 16-18°C and decant an hour before serving to unlock the wine’s full potential.

Located in the heart of Napa Valley, Alpha Omega was founded in 2006 by Robin and Michelle Baggett. Robin had previously established Tolosa Winery in California, but wanted to work with Napa Valley’s unique terroir. They are joined by winemaker Henrik Poulsen, who grew up in Nexø, Denmark, and with almost two decades of experience from both Europe and Napa Valley, brings international finesse and technical precision.

Alpha Omega owns vineyards in Rutherford, including the technologically advanced Thomas Vineyard, where precise measurements of water, weather and maturity ensure optimal quality.
