Distilled in 2004, the whisky has been aged for more than 20 years in a single sherry butt (cask number 2385). The long maturation has resulted in remarkable depth and complexity, with the character of the sherry cask blending elegantly with the classic style of the distillery. Bottling took place on August 2, 2024, straight from the cask at full cask strength of 58.8%.

As always in the Family Cask series, this whisky is bottled without chill filtration and without the addition of colorant. The result is an intense and unadulterated taste experience where each glass tells the story of time, wood and craftsmanship. Tasting notes

Nose: Rich and deep sherry profile with dried fruits, raisins and dark chocolate. Fine nuances of leather, tobacco and roasted nuts accompanied by a slight sweetness from caramel.

Taste: Rich and complex with layers of figs, dark cherries and candied orange peel. Spices like cinnamon and nutmeg add warmth and structure, while the alcohol is powerful but nicely integrated.

Finish: Long and persistent with deep sherry body, elegant oak and a hint of mocha that slowly lets go.

The history of the house

Founded in 1836, Glenfarclas is one of the few distilleries in Scotland that remains 100% family owned. The Grant family has led the distillery for generations, focusing on traditional pot still production, slow distillation and long maturation in carefully selected sherry casks.

Glenfarclas is internationally recognized for its deep, complex and honest whiskies, and the Family Casks range is considered the crown jewel of the distillery.
