Baron Gaston Legrand Bas Armagnac 1982 – Classic vintage Armagnac from Bas Armagnac

Baron Gaston Legrand Bas Armagnac 1982 is an elegant and characterful vintage Armagnac from the most prestigious area in the region – Bas Armagnac. This 1982 vintage represents classic French art of distillation and decades of patient barrel aging, which has developed a deep and nuanced flavor profile.

The Armagnac is produced from the traditional Ugni Blanc, Baco Blanc and Colombard grape varieties grown in the sandy and ferrous soils of Bas Armagnac. This area is known for producing the finest and most aromatic Armagnac, with elegance, finesse and ageing potential in a class of its own.

Distillation is traditionally carried out in a continuous Armagnac alembic, after which the distillate is aged for many years in French oak barrels. The long barrel maturation has rounded the structure and given a silky texture with complex oxidative notes.

Tasting notes

Color: Deep amber with a mahogany tinge.

Aroma: Complex and harmonious with notes of dried apricots, prunes and candied orange peel. Underlying notes of vanilla, caramel, toasted oak and light spice.

Flavor: Round and well-balanced with layers of nuts, dark honey, dried fruit and a subtle spicy character. The natural acidity adds freshness and lifts the overall impression.

Finish: Long, warm and persistent with elegant barrel notes and a soft, spicy sweetness.
