Plantation Rum Extreme No. 1 PING XIII – 14 Years Trinidad Rum 56,8%

Plantation Rum Extreme No. 1 – PING XIII is one of the rarest and most coveted bottlings in the Plantation range. This exclusive rum is created for collectors and passionate rum lovers seeking a powerful and authentic rum experience with deep complexity and character.

Only 300 bottles have been produced worldwide, making this release a true collector’s item. The Plantation Extreme range is renowned for presenting rum in its most natural form – without compromise – allowing the distillate’s origin, barrel aging and strength to shine through.

This rum was distilled in Trinidad in 2002 and aged for a full 14 years through a unique double maturation process. First, 10 years in tropical climate bourbon barrels in Trinidad, where the rum developed its deep and intense character. Then a further 4 years in French cognac barrels in France, where it gained its elegant structure and refined complexity.

With an impressive 56.8% alcoholic strength, the rum is powerful and concentrated. It is bottled with minimal intervention to preserve the authentic flavor profile, making it a perfect example of Plantation Rum’s philosophy of highlighting terroir, cask and craft.

The story of Plantation Rum

Created by Maison Ferrand under the direction of Alexandre Gabriel, Plantation Rum is one of the world’s most recognized rum brands today. The philosophy behind Plantation is to find exceptional rum casks from the Caribbean and then give them an extra maturation in cognac casks in France.

The Plantation Extreme series represents the rarest and most characterful casks in the house cellars. These rums are released in very small quantities and are often bottled at high strength to retain the full intensity of the cask.
