Taittinger Brut Millésimé 2016 – exclusive vintage champagne from the heart of Reims

When only the best is good enough, Taittinger Brut Millésimé 2016 is the perfect choice. This elegant vintage champagne is made for special moments when finesse, depth and character come together. The 2016 vintage is a brilliant testament to Taittinger’s ability to transform the challenges of nature into top-class champagne.

The champagne is composed of equal parts Chardonnay and Pinot Noir, carefully selected from 70% Grands Crus and 30% Premiers Crus vineyards. The combination provides a perfect balance of freshness, structure and aromatic complexity. Aged for more than five years in Taittinger’s historic cellars, the wine has developed impressive depth while retaining its lively elegance.

2016 was a challenging year in Champagne with frost, heavy rain and a hot, dry end to the season. The result was a lower yield, but grapes of exceptional quality – and this concentration and precision is evident in the glass.

Tasting notes

Aroma: Elegant and complex with floral notes of hawthorn, white flowers and verbena. Fresh pear, kumquat and a subtle hint of ginger and mint add depth and freshness.

Taste: Fresh and vibrant with a floral opening. Notes of honeysuckle, peach and citrus unfold beautifully, leading to a long and refined finish with slightly bitter orange peel and pronounced minerality.

Character: A harmonious balance between the chalky finesse of Chardonnay and the structured depth of Pinot Noir – elegant, precise and persistent.

The story of Maison Taittinger

Maison Taittinger is one of Champagne’s most respected and recognized houses based in Reims. Founded in the early 20th century and still family-owned, Taittinger is built on generations of passion for wine, craftsmanship and terroir.

The house has 288 hectares of vineyards, the majority of which are classified as Grand and Premier Cru. The champagne is aged deep underground in ancient Gallo-Roman chalk chambers, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Here, the wines are left to mature and develop the finesse and complexity that has made Taittinger world famous. Brut Millésimé 2016 is a fine expression of the house’s uncompromising style and high level of ambition.
